Today at Enrich we had Grant from the Sea Shepherd come to talk to us about how he has taken part in missions to stop whalers from killing whales. In the middle photo, Grant is the guy on the right . He stops the Japanese from killing whales . In the top photo, the blue, gray and black boat is a Sea Shepherd ship. It is the one Grant rides in. I learnt that the Sea Shepherds throw stink bombs at the Whaling ships which makes the meat go rotten, and makes it only good for scientific research.
Hello my name is Joshua. I go to Enrich on a Monday and WOW!! its awesome. I go to enrich because I am a gifted individual. This is my blog and I hope you enjoy it.

Today at Enrich
Today at Enrich I got a website for plans for a rubber band gun. It is a pistol. It is my passion project. It is one of the coolest things I have ever seen in my whole life and the best thing is we have the things to make it. My one is not like this one its just a picture of a rubber band gun that I found on the net. I am going to do some work on it tonight with Dad - cutting out the pieces I need. I will make the gun at Enrich next Tuesday.

Today at Enrich
Today at Enrich I went out to the stone carving shed and I started to some sand papering on my stone carving of a duck. It is going really well, I am really liking it I think it is so fun and I can not wait to get back on the tools. I need to keep sand papering until it is really smooth, and then I am going to seal it so that it is protected from the weather. I am going to put my carving in the middle of the paddock when it is duck shooting weekend!!!

Teacher comment
It has been great to see how much more independent you have become as the year has progressed Josh. You did a great job of just getting on with your blog post and getting it done. You are always keen and enthusiastic and willingly take part in any activity on offer at Enrich. You have been making steady progress with your stone carving and it has really started to take shape over the last couple of sessions. Great work Josh. Keep it up!

Today at enrich
Today at Enrich we kicked off the day with some leader board chess. I won both of the games I played and I am 12th on the leader board. Then we played Pegasaurus, in the last round was Darryn and Alana. Darryn was not that good but Alana was great . After that we had a choose out of p4c or debating. The people that had done writing had to do it again. They had to write a story about a memory that's happened in their lives. I wrote about opening weekend of duck shooting .I also went with Katie to make parachutes for eggs .

Today...
Today at Enrich we all played a game of chess for about half an hour. After chess I went straight into my science group with Alana. We made light bulbs out of:
- A pie tin
- A jam jar
- Wire
- Alligator clips
- Pencil lead
- Half a toilet roll
- A spring out of a pen
- D sized batteries
You needed 8 batteries - you connected the alligator clips to the batteries, then the other head of the alligator clips held the pencil lead in place. You could only hold the alligator clips onto the battery for up to 10 seconds because it would blow the pencil lead.
Our group (Hannah H, India and Katie) had success!

Today at Enrich
Today at enrich we had a technology challenge we had to make something that stands by its self that you could shoot a shuttlecock out of it but only with one hand, we will judge at the end of the day we also had someone come in and tell us about the Waihopai river and how it is so dirty and muddy. Then we started to talk about seawood bush and pets there and Darryn came out with some ferret, rat and stoat fur. It was really cool and I enjoyed it.

Today @ enrich
Today at Enrich we played the Wilson hoop game, then I chose to do panting with Katie. We had to paint a river some tree shadows and lily pads, it was an impressionist painting like Claude Monet. I will be doing this again next week as well so watch this space! We also started our new concept curriculum about environment and we are still doing the tuning in and finding out what we know about environment.

today at enrich
Today at enrich I tried really hard to smash the top 6 people on chess the leader board but it didn't work out the way I planned. Maybe next year??
I also went to a workshop on affective with Darryn where we learnt what Francois Gagne thinks it means to be gifted and I learnt you are born gifted and you can,t go round saying I am awesome because I am gifted. But if you have done something BIG it mite be ok.

Today at Enrich
Today at lunch time I did cup stacking. Last week my fastest time was 6:75seconds, and this week I got it down to 5:75seconds! I was doing the 3-6-3.
Also today we went to the museum to see the Wearable Arts. One of them was a knight that had a really cool sword, and another was a lady whose dress was made out of copper radiator fronts! It looked like it would be really sore to wear. When we went in the tent that was there, my shoes were glowing! The white things were glowing because there was a UV light in the tent. I loved the glowing tent! Even the wearable arts in the tent were glowing!
